New York Red Bulls defender Tim Ream has admitted that Arsenal are tracking him.

The 24-year-old is a US international and has seven caps to his name. Ream usually plays as a central defender and could be back-up for Arsenal’s preferred centre-backs of Per Mertesacker and Thomas Vermaelen.

“I guess its public knowledge now [Arsenal's interest] and there have been others,” said Ream.

“It’s good to have teams tracking you but it can’t be a distraction either. If something comes of it, so be it. It would be a chance of a lifetime.”

Ream’s team the New York Red Bulls upset the odds over pre-season by claiming Arsenal’s annual tournament, the Emirates Cup.
