Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that striker Federico Macheda may leave Manchester United in the January transfer window – with Palermo a possible destination.
Speaking in a press conference today, the United boss admitted that Danny Welbeck’s successful loan spell at Sunderland has shown the benefit of playing regular first team football and that ‘Kiko’ could prosper from a similar deal.
Interest in the Italian seems to be greater in the forward’s homeland and a temporary switch to either Palermo or Lazio is most likely.
