Italian giants switch attentions to Liverpool frontman
Juventus look to have admitted defeat in their pursuit of Arsenal’s wantaway striker Robin van Persie and so have instead switched their attention to Liverpool’s Luis Suarez – claim the Daily Mail.
Juve general manager Giuseppe Marotta has seen negotiations with the Dutchman’s representatives stall and so is eager to test Liverpool’s resolve with a bid for Suarez.
The Uruguayan is said to be angry at being booed whilst representing his country during the London Olympics and the Italian champions hope the player may have grown tired of life in England after all of the controversy that surrounded him last season.
Despite Juventus’ interest, however, Liverpool announced on Tuesday evening that Suarez has signed a new long-term contract at Anfield and so it would take a gigantic offer from the Italian giants to prise the striker away from Merseyside.
