Stephen Ireland could be out of the door at Villa Park after just 6 months, with Monaco making it clear they will consider a swap deal with Aston Villa for him and Dieumerci Mbokani.
Monaco made their interest in Ireland known last week and are apparently desperate to bring the creative midfielder to France.
Ireland has failed to settle in the Midlands and with Monaco ready to use 6ft 1in striker Mbokani – whom Villa have already shown an interest in – to sweeten the deal, it’s a offer that Gerard Houllier is sure to consider.
