Chelsea star set to quit this January to join MLS?
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard could quit the club this January to join MLS side LA Galaxy, according to the Daily Star.
The veteran England international, 34, is said to be keen on playing regular first team football and is unhappy that his game time is becoming increasingly limited at Stamford Bridge – initially under former boss Andre Villas-Boas and now head coach Roberto Di Matteo.
Despite his advancing years, Lampard has still figured fairly heavily for Chelsea this season, appearing in seven of the eight of their Premier League games this season – although he was named as a substitute for the recent fixture against Tottenham Hotspur.
This has led to speculation that Lampard could join former England colleague David Beckham at LA Galaxy in January with the Americans believing that they may be able to snap-up the goalscoring midfielder on a free transfer.
Lampard’s current Chelsea deal runs until the end of this season.
