Shakhtar Donestk attacker Willian has claimed that both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in singing him.

The 24-year-old Brazilian winger was originally linked to Chelsea during Andre Villas-Boas’ time as manager at the Bridge and the player claims the Portuguese coach has become a friend due to his regular contact. As such, AVB’s current side Tottenham are also in the mix for his signature.

Quoted by the Daily Mail, Willian said: “There were two offers in the summer. One from Chelsea and one from Tottenham. Choosing between the two clubs would be difficult. I don’t know.

“Tottenham is a big club and it has a good person in charge. Andre Villas-Boas wanted to bring me to Chelsea and also tried at Tottenham.

“He always sends me messages. We are always in touch, and he has become a friend, for sure. And Chelsea is Chelsea. They are a great team, with amazing players and are the champions of Europe.

“I would love to play for either of those clubs.”

Willian is contracted to Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar until 2014 and could cost in advance of £20m should Chelsea or Spurs attempt to swoop for the player this January.
