Fulham chase Serie A forward to bolster attack
TalkSport are claiming that Premier League side Fulham are tracking Catania striker Takayuki Morimoto
The 24-year-old is apparently in the brunt of a battle for his signature between former club Hamburg and Fulham, despite Martin Jol drafting in forwards galore in the summer in the form of Hugo Rodallega, Mladen Petric and Dimitar Berbatov.
The Japan ace is believed to have fallen out of favour with Italian side Catania and a loan deal for the remainder of the season could be on the cards come the opening of the January transfer window.
Morimoto has only made two appearances for Catania since his switch in the summer, however, he found the net four times in 18 outings for Novara during a 2011- 2012 campaign which was ravaged by injury.
Morimoto is currently the youngest player to appear in Japan’s J-League after appearing for Tokyo Verdy aged just 15.
