Cult Hero: Igor Biscan (Liverpool)
Club: Liverpool
Position: Midfield
Nationality: Croatian
A Christmas signing from Croatia Zagreb back in 2000, Igor Biscan had captained his former club at the tender age of 21 and was highly-rated by manager Gerard Houlier when he arrived at Anfield.
Biscan was often used as a versatile right-back come midfielder, however, he never really made a stamp on his first team place.
Playing in the Worthing Cup final was undoubtedly a highlight during his short career on Merseyside; nevertheless he would regrettably miss both the FA Cup and UEFA Cup final.

2004/05 was a revival for Biscan under Benitez. Several really good performances. Notably against Deportivo and Chelsea in the Champions League.
Scored a crucial late goal against Bolton in the same campaign that kept the Reds in the hunt for 4th.
