Goals that nobody remembers – David Nugent 2006/07

Preston North End travelled to Selhurt Park for an FA Cup fourth round tie against Crystal Palace.

In the first minute of the second period David Nugent received the ball in his own half, sprinted 50 yards down the left wing before cutting inside Mark Hudson’s weak challenge and clinically slipping the ball past the advancing Palace goalkeeper to score a goal Lionel Messi would be proud of.

Nugent left in the summer to Portsmouth for £6m and as they say, the rest is history.
