Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger would consider taking the Real Madrid job if Jose Mourinho were to leave the Bernabeu, according to a report from the People.
The Frenchman is believed to be on a list of potential candidates compiled by president Florentino Perez to succeed Mourinho who has been linked with a move back to the Premier League in the summer.
Wenger’s own future at Arsenal had been put under some scrutiny with some sections of support unhappy with the club’s progress which has seen the Gunners settle for a battle for the European positions in the Premier League.
A source is quoted by the People: “There is a feeling that he could move there.”
Wenger joined Arsenal in 1996 and has landed three Premier League titles in his time as boss, the highlight being the Gunners’ unbeaten season of 2003/04 – the last of the three league championships.
