Everton have re-signed their former midfielder Steven Pienaar from Tottenham Hotspur in a dramatic late move, the BBC reports.
Pienaar only left Everton this time 12 months ago to sign for Spurs but with the South African struggling to get anywhere near the first XI at White Hart Lane he has decided to return to Merseyside.
The creative midfield player has only had 16 minutes of Premier League action this season that took place in two separate substitute appearances for Harry Redknapp’s side.
Everton will be pleased with their deadline day business having signed Nikica Jelavic from Rangers for £5m and now former recruit Pienaar.
Meanwhile, Frenchman Louis Saha, 33, has moved in the other direction with boss David Moyes ready to let the forward go having just struck twice for the Blues this season.
The Toffees capped a good night on Tuesday evening by beating table-topping Manchester City at Goodison Park with a 1-0 win thanks to another January signing, Darron Gibson.
