Former Liverpool star subjected to racial abuse on Twitter

Former Liverpool star and new Queens Park Rangers striker Djibril Cisse has been subjected to racism on social networking web site Twitter, it has been revealed.

The 30-year-old made an instant impact in his return to the Premier League on Wednesday evening with a debut goal that helped QPR to a 2-2 away draw with Aston Villa.

However, following the match Cisse retweeted some messages, appearing to be from Lazio supporters, that contained racial slurs.

“Die nigger bastard Lazio fans hate you!” one said. Another added: “djibril is a big monkey.”

Cisse reacted by tweeting: “Wow is it the idiot parade today – I retweeted them just to show how some people are fucking stupids just because I left a club I’m a fucking nigger who deserve to die or a big monkey?

“wow I’m really shocked u 2 guys are fucking brainless and u should be fucking ashamed.”

French international Cisse left Lazio after just six months at the club and only managed to score once in his time in Italy.
