Liverpool complete signing of Portuguese playmaker

Liverpool have completed the signing of young Portuguese playmaker Joao Carlos Teixeira from Sporting Lisbon, according to talkSPORT.
Teixeira, 19, first came to Liverpool’s attention during a NextGen youth match at Anfield where the teenager impressed and scored at the Kop end in a 3-0 success for the away side.
Sporting’s young side took on Liverpool back in October and it was Teixeira who opened the scoring for the visitors with a neat finish. While Sporting were apparently keen on keeping the player, the club have financial issues and are happy for one of their hottest prospects – who has been compared to Deco – to leave Portugal.
A previous report from the Guardian has suggested that Liverpool will pay Sporting around £1m for the talented youngster.
It is unknown whether Teixeira will be given his chance in the first-team this campaign but he is certainly a player that Kenny Dalglish will look to implement in the future.
