Liverpool are tracking the progress of Udinese midfielder Mauricio Isla, according to the player’s representative.
The 23-year-old has been a key figure in Udinese’s challenge for the Serie A title this season and his side currently lie just four points off leaders Juventus.
However, Isla’s agent Leonardo Rodriguez has claimed that Liverpool are watching the player which suggests the Reds could make a move for the Chilean international over the summer.
Speaking to the International Business Times UK, Rodriguez said: “I believe that he [Isla] is being watched by Liverpool and by other clubs from Italy.”
He continued: “I canĀ“t be sure that any clubs are getting in contact [with Udinese].”
Isla’s versatility could be something that appeals to Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish with the player able to perform in central midfield, on the right-wing or at right-back.
Liverpool may have to pay a premium price though with Isla tied down to a contract that lasts until 2015.
