Liverpool boss on hand to keep track of Napoli duo

Published on March 15, 2012 by   ·   22 Comments

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish was at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening to keep an eye on talented Napoli duo Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi, reports Setanta Sports.

The Reds have been criticised for their profligacy in front of goal this season and Dalglish could be considering a double swoop for Cavani and Lavezzi to boost his attacking options for next season.

The South American pair were yesterday linked with possible switches to Chelsea yesterday but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has attempted to pour cold water over the rumours by claiming that only £100m would tempt him into selling.

Cavani, 24, is an international team mate of Luis Suarez and could be tempted to link up with his fellow Uruguayan at Anfield. Lavezzi, meanwhile, has been capped 16 times by Argentina.

Despite Napoli taking a 3-1 lead to Chelsea on Wednesday, the Italians were knocked out of the Champions League after they were defeated 4-1 on the night after extra-time.

Liverpool FC,Please spend the budget wisely. Cavani and Lavezzi is very good signing but Winger and midfield defensive also needed to be strong and tough before we be seriuosly contender.Better sell out deadwood player before we get new player.

no chance of this happening if havent got champions league football next year although could be an option with cavani with suarez being a international team mate of his, great player but it worries me whether cavani would do it in english football because the Serie A is a different kettle of fish i must say, and how can you justify saying get andy carroll out of liverpool??? the likes of charlie adam and stewart downing i understand because there at that age now where as carroll and henderson have got so much time to improve! ok henderson hasn’t brought anything to the table i understand that but we’ve seen far better performances of andy carroll as of late, give him time and get behind the team and the manager instead of sticking the knife in! hendersons for is not for the present he’s for the future, therefore we need to add some decent blood in the summer! You do know that Reina is that fella in goal responsible for keeping goals out and has done so consistantly well for 5 seasons albeit the occasional bloooper so why prioritise his replacement?

This won’t happen unless Liverpool make it to the Champions League. Top rated players often want to play in the CL. I do think giving e.g. Sterling and Suso first team chances will be a step in the right direction.
