Liverpool’s first piece of transfer business this summer will surround the signing of giant Ivorian striker Lacina Traore, according to The Express.
Traore, who stands at an incredible 6 ft 8in, plays for Kuban Krasnodar in the Russian Premier League and is believed to be available for a fee of £8m Euros.
New Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is yet to make his first move in the transfer market and fans will be eager to see the former Swansea boss bolster the frontline, who were anything but prolific in a disappointing campaign last term.
With the club set to embark on a Europa League campaign also next season, Liverpool will require a big squad and to avoid over reliance on stars such as Luis Suarez.
Traore, has naturally been likened to to recent Shanghai Shenhua acquisition Didier Drogba, but the 22-year-old is yet to taste international action at senior level, despite figuring in the Champions League for his former employers CFR Cluj.
Having reportedly lost ground to Tottenham in the race to land Hoffenheim’s Gylfi Sigurdsson, Rodgers and Liverpool will be determined to capture Traore ahead of other potential suitors.
