Napoli forward Edison Cavani will demand £150,000 a week if he signs for Chelsea – according to the Daily Mail.
Cavani is expected to open talks with the west London club this week and it is believed he will want parity with the Blues’ top earners.
Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo is keen to bolster his attacking options and he believes that the Napoli striker, valued at £35m, is the man to fill the gap left by the departed Didier Drogba.
Cavani is also interesting Italian champions Juventus, however, it is understood that the Stamford Bridge outfit have been watching him for a while now - particularly after he scored against them in last season’s Champions League.
Should Chelsea meet the Uruguayan’s wage demands it would put him on a par with John Terry, Fernando Torres and Frank Lampard.
Should the Blues reject the strikers’ wishes, it is believed they are also keen on Atletico Madrid’s Falcao.
