Sunderland to replace Bent with Arsenal’s Bendtner

Sunderland gaffer Steve Bruce attended last night’s FA Cup third round replay between Arsenal and Leeds in order to get a cheeky look at his potential transfer target, Nicklas Bendtner.

Bruce has recently sold star striker Darren Bent to Aston Villa for £24m and is desperate to use that money to add new recruits, with loanee Danny Welbeck on the sidelines for the next few weeks.

The big Dane is reportedly unhappy at the Gunners, seeing little first-team action this season, while it is thought a bid of £15m could persuade Arsene Wenger to cash-in.
