Man Utd & Chelsea Make Offers for 10 Goal Winger, Says Agent

Manchester United and Chelsea have made offers for £86 million-rated Atlético Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco, according to the player’s agent.

The 23-year-old is enjoying his most-prolific season in the Spanish capital having scored an impressive 10 goals in 26 appearances for Atléti from the wing, including six in 17 La Liga appearances and two in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Carrasco has developed into one of the most exciting attacking players in the world under Diego Simeone since moving to the Vicente Calderón Stadium in 2015 following his move from AS Monaco.

Now it appears the winger has been offered the chance to move to the Premier League as the Express are citing reports from Spanish outlet Don Balon that claim English giants Manchester United and Chelsea are competing for the pacey wide man’s signature.

The report says that the player’s agent, Christophe Henrotay, has already informed Atlético Madrid that the English pair have made offers for his client ahead of a potential summer transfer.

Carrasco has an £86 million buyout clause in his contract which was agreed last October, tying him down until 2022.

However, the Express suggest that both United and Chelsea are willing to meet this substantial fee but that they could face stiff competition from Bayern Munich and Juventus who have both also made their interest known.

The Spanish side would find it very difficult to keep the Belgian international should either of these sides bid £86 million.

Yannick Carrasco would be an excellent signing for either club as he can play anywhere across the front three attacking midfield positions, has pace, trickery and an eye for goal.

However, CSAR believe the buyout clause is too excessive for a player who is only starting to excel this season and that both United and Chelsea would be better off spending their £86 million more wisely.

Whether either side can agree a cheaper deal with his current owners remains to be seen.  We shall have to see between now and the summer if either side make an official approach for the talented winger.
