My career in pictures… Didier Drogba
1997: After numerous performances in youth teams, Drogba makes his professional debut aged 18 for Ligue 2 club Le Mans.
December, 2001: Halfway through the 2001/02 season, Ligue 1 club Guingamp purchase Drogba for £80,000.
2002/03: Drogba gains admirers by scoring 17 goals in 34 appearances in Ligue 1.
2003: The Ivorian moves to Olympique de Marseille for £3.3m.
2004: Drogba nets 19 goals, finishing top goalscorer for Marseille. In turn, he helps the French club to the 2004 UEFA Cup Final.
July, 2004: Drogba signs for Chelsea for a record breaking fee of £24m, making him the most expensive Côte d’Ivoire player in history. He helps The Blues to their first ever Premier League title.
2006: The striker wins the league title with Chelsea before captaining his national side during the 2006 World Cup.
2007: Drogba finished as top scorer in the 2006/07 season with 20 goals and also slams home the winning goals in the League Cup Final and FA Cup Final.
2010: Winning his second Golden Boot with 29 goals, he scores the only goal in Chelsea’s victory over Portsmouth in the 2010 FA Cup Final.
