Chelsea Defender Suffers Big Injury, Scan Reveals He Will Miss Rest of the Season
Chelsea have been fortunate with injuries so far this season. Manager Antonio Conte hasn’t been dealt any major injury blows to date which has led to a more stable starting XI. And should this continue, I sincerely believe the Blues will win the Premier League title comfortably this season.
However, Chelsea players on loan have been dealt with a couple of injuries. Today reports from Africa (as reported by Daily Star) say that Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
The highly-rated full-back is currently on loan with Schalke 04 in Germany having joined Chelsea in August 2015. Rahman was injured while playing for Ghana against Gabon at the African Cup of Nations last week. He reportedly flew to Chelsea to see the club’s doctors to have a look at the injury and a scan has now revealed he will miss as many as six months, ruling him out for the rest of this season.
The injury is said to be very bad and will need surgery to repair the damage. This will be a big blow for the 22-year-old Ghanaian, but considering he was on loan before his injury, Chelsea are unlikely to feel the impact. It could however affect the club’s chances of selling him on and the player’s chances of forcing his way into Antonio Conte’s team next season unless he heals before pre-season.
