Serie A News… Juventus could turn to Rossi to solve striker crisis
Juventus are desperate to land a striker to keep their season in tact after Fabio Quagliarela succumbed to an injury that will keep him out for the rest of the campaign.
The Italian giants, who have today been linked with a move for Diego Forlan, have identified that they need pace and goals to compete with the sides at the top of a very competitive Serie A.
As such they are looking into the possibility of signing Giuseppe Rossi from Spanish club Villarreal C.F. The future of Rossi, 24, is widely assumed to be in limbo and many of the top Italian sides have reviewed his progress over the last few months.
Juve’s striker crisis may have forced their hand and they are preparing a bid in the region of £15m, a figure needed to test the resolve of Villarreal, who have a contract with him until 2013.
Rossi, who has nine goals in 18 La Liga games this season, may be tempted to take a leading role in a Juventus side certainly in the midst of a rebuilding process, and if Luigi Del Neri gets his man they shall look to finish the season strongly.
