If you had to put all your savings on a striker to finish a one on one, this man is sure to be top of your list. The trick is to lace it with the Frenchman rather than side foot, do that and he’s calmness personified. Le Sulk will get you plenty of goals but is wasted if not played in a 4-2-2 with Mikel holding. The Drogba and Anelka partnership is a match for any defensive line-up and the beauty of this formation is that it allows you to contain and hit hard on the break.
He may have bucket loads of strength, but what good is it if you can’t keep up with players? The key to Chelsea’s downfall is pace through the middle so let Alex warm the bench and drop down Michael Essein to centre-half. With a rating of 86, he’s extremely efficient anywhere on the pitch.
Having not kicked a ball for over a year until a few weeks ago, Jose’s rating of 81 is more than generous. However, he offers so much more down that right flank compared to team-mate Bransilav Ivanovic. Maybe now he’s on the comeback trail he can justify his £16.3m transfer fee.
