Tottenham Ready to Agree £25m Deal for 4 Goals, 8 Assists Attacker
Tottenham avoided a big upset on Saturday by coming from a 2-0 down to beat League Two opposition Wycombe Wanderers 4-3 in a thrilling FA Cup encounter. Up next is Sunderland in the English Premier League. With Spurs third in the table with 46 points; nine points behind Chelsea, manager Mauricio Pochettino will know they can’t afford any slip up whatsoever.
However, with the congested nature of Tottenham’s fixtures going forward, Pochettino is working to sign at least one player before the transfer window closes tomorrow. Tottenham have been relatively inactive so far this winter but all that could change in the final 48 hours of the transfer window.
Former-Manchester United star Wilfried Zaha, who is currently with Crystal Palace, has constantly been linked in the last week or so. The North London club reportedly made a bid to sign the 24-year-old last summer but failed and are said to be ready to try again this winter.
According to the Sun, Spurs are prepared to make a new offer of £25 million for the Ivorian international. Zaha has been one of the bright spots in Crystal Palace’s poor season with his side currently in the relegation zone, but in 19 games Zaha has scored four goals and recorded eight assists.
The signing of Wilfried Zaha, should it happen, will significantly improve Tottenham’s attack but with just 48 hours left in the transfer window and little time left for Crystal Palace to find a replacement, the likelihood of this deal happening appears to be very slim.
