Confirmed Lineups: Sutton vs Arsenal

Arsenal head to non-league side Sutton United in the FA Cup this evening hoping to book a tie with Lincoln City in the quarter-finals of this season’s competition.

The Gunners are heavy favourites to see off the lowest ranked team in the competition and manager Arsène Wenger could do with a big win this evening after his side were hammered 5-1 by Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League last time out.

Arsenal have fielded the following team for this evening’s tie:

David Ospina; Gabriel Paulista, Shkodran Mustafi, Rob Holding, Nacho Monreal; Mohamed Elneny, Granit Xhaka; Lucas Pérez, Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Alex Iwobi; Theo Walcott

Substitutes: Emiliano Martínez, Mathieu Debuchy, Per Mertesacker, Kieran Gibbs, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alexis Sánchez

Wenger has named a decent starting XI this evening but the front four isn’t overwhelmingly convincing.  Theo Walcott starts up front when many think he’d have better success out on the right flank this evening.  Gabriel Paulista is backing him up front full-back.

Lucas Pérez will be looking to get in among the goals this evening in an attacking midfield three alongside Alex Iwobi and the young Jeff Reine-Adelaide.  The Spaniard is one of the few players in the starting lineup who you can imagine scoring.

Arsenal have a strong back four this evening with regular Shkodran Mustafi partnering Rob Holding in the middle.  Nacho Monreal starts at left-back.  Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny should spend much of their time in Sutton’s half as the Premier League side dominate possession.
