Merry-Go-Round: Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, Alexis Sánchez to Chelsea?
Chelsea currently have one of the best footballers in the world on their books in Eden Hazard. The Belgian superstar is quite simply a joy to watch when in full flight, and he can single-handedly rip any defence in the world apart on his day.
Eventually, clubs will come sniffing around for his signature and that seems to be the case now. According to reports, Real Madrid are getting ready to test the resolve of the Premier League leaders with a world record transfer bid for the 26-year-old.
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane wants to make Hazard his next ‘Galactico’ and what a tempting offer that must be for the player if Madrid’s interest does indeed materialise. This is a player who has won pretty much everything the English game has to offer him, and a move to what is arguably the biggest club side in the world could be too hard to say no to.
At the end of the day, if Madrid wants him badly enough then they’ll get their man. However, this could be a summer to sell Hazard as there are doubts about Alexis Sánchez’s future at Arsenal and the Chilean could be a tailor-made replacement for the Blues.
It seems that Sánchez himself would be interested in a move to Chelsea. Perhaps it is because he is already settled in London, and Conte’s men are looking like the side everyone else is going to be chasing for the next couple of seasons.
Should these transfers come to fruition the biggest losers would be Arsenal. They find themselves in a predicament which looks as though UEFA Champions League football won’t be on table come the end of the season, and it couldn’t have come at a worse time with both Sánchez and Mesut Özil’s contracts heading into their final 12 months.
