Steven Pienaar has praised the support of the Everton fans after completing his switch to Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Everton winger completed his first training session with his new club yesterday but was quick to use his Twitter account to thank the Toffees.

“To you Blues fans U guys have been top,” said Pienaar. “The passion U show 4 your team & the way you took me in & supported me in such a magnificent way.”

The South African added: “Hope, in a small way, I was able to contribute towards making your support of EFC more pleasant!”

Pienaar will wear the number 40 shirt for Tottenham Hotspur.

Hope you enjoy being at a smaller club with only 2 league titles to their name.

Come on Billy!! Here is your chance Hopefully, unless Moyes persists with his mates

Yeah, we meant so much to Pienaar he couldn’t even be bothered to type the word “you”.

He wont even get near their team when they realise he doesn’t score or set up any goals!

Warm words from Pienaar – meaningless! hollow performances all season, should have got real money for him last summer – we got the selling strategy wrong here. nice player but not that good!

When will these players learn that the grass isn’t always greener elsewhere? The amount of ‘stars’ that end up doing nothing after leaving Everton continues to grow. They just don’t realise what a good club they’re at until it is too late. Pienaar is a good player, but he was made to look like a world beater with Leighton Baines behind him. It will be very interesting to see if he even gets a look in at Spurs.

I personally think he was our most influencial and creative player (Arteta has been poor since injury) and our immense loss in Spur’s gain. They have got a bargain as they can afford to pay a decent player a modern day aspiring top sixe premiership wage. Unlike us who have a two bit board – so Moyes has to go and try to replace a player of Pienaars quality with NO!!! money again! The maths don’t add up, pay his over inflated wages or pay £10M+ to get a player of that quality in contract. KENWRIGHT your times UP! thanks for stabalising and loving your club, but you’ve taken her as far as you can and we are now drifting backwards and being over taken by the likes of spurs! and god forbid Sunderland and Birmingham may even start over taking us. Don’t say you’re trying to find a buyer anymore, make it happen as fast as you can for the sake of our great club.

    Thankyou.

Pienaar was not good enough, look at his goalscoring and assist record from his time at Everton. Bilyaletdinov will fill the void with more goals and assist!

If Kanwright had shown the same ambition as Steven , He’d still be wearing the blue shirt . He’s gone to a team with plans for the future not one who’s chairman’s ego won’t let his team grow , Thats the problem , not an ambitious player who’s never asked for a transfer !
