Agent of Man Utd Target Rules Out Italian Move
The Álvaro Morata transfer saga has taken another positive turn for Manchester United fans, as the agent of the 24-year-old has ruled out any move to AC Milan this summer.
Morata’s agent, Juanma Lopez, claims that Real Madrid have rejected the Italian giants’ offer for the Spanish international.
United boss José Mourinho is keen to add another striker to his ranks following the long-term injury to Zlatan Ibrahimović. The Swede is not expected to be back until the New Year and his contract at Old Trafford actually expires at the end of this month.
Latest reports are that the Premier League giants are prepared to pay up to £60 million for Morata, essentially pricing AC Milan out of the equation.
Álvaro Morata is believed to want to leave the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium this summer to find regular first team football. The striker only made 14 La Liga starts this past season as Zinedine Zidane predominately preferred fellow countryman Karim Benzema as his central striker in a 4-3-3 formation.
Morata’s agent is quoted by Calcio Mercato (via the Mirror) as saying:
“There have been frequent contacts with Milan until a few days ago, I can confirm.
“But Real Madrid has simply found the Rossoneri club’s offer unsatisfactory.”
This makes Manchester United the faovurites to sign Álvaro Morata this summer.
Mourinho currently has both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial on his books as options up front.
