Alexis Sánchez, Mesut Özil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have one thing in common – they all have just one year left on their current deals with Arsenal.  This would allow them to leave the club on a free transfer next summer if they refuse to sign a new deal and Arsenal stick to their guns by not selling any of them.

However, this hasn’t stopped clubs from testing the Gunners’ resolve to keep the players. Sánchez has been linked with many clubs: Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Chelsea and both Manchester clubs. Mesut Özil seems keen to remain at the Emirates however. Another player who is getting the attention of clubs within the Premier league is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

It is being reported by The Sun that Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is ready to sign Oxlade-Chamberlain and he will attempt to lure him in with the offer of regular playing time and UEFA Champions League football. Klopp is reportedly ready to give Oxlade-Chamberlain a chance in his preferred central midfield role and hopes that a big money offer will convince the former-Southampton youngster to move to Anfield.

The report claims Liverpool are ready to offer Arsenal £20 million for the England international. Whether Arsenal will be willing to do business at this price remains to be seen but considering the relationship between the Gunners and Liverpool after the Luis Luis Suárez debacle, it would not be a surprise if Liverpool fail in their attempt to sign the midfielder.

One thing that puts the credibility of this report into doubt is Oxlade-Chamberlain’s agent, Aidy Ward. Those who remember the Raheem Sterling saga in 2015 will know what Aidy Ward is like. He is the agent of both Oxlade-Chamberlain and former-Liverpool player Sterling. The way Sterling left Liverpool after coming through the club’s youth ranks can’t have impressed the Reds. It is very doubtful that Liverpool will want to do business with Aidy Ward again, in my opinion at least.
