Confirmed Lineups: Hoffenheim vs Liverpool
Liverpool start their UEFA Champions League campaign in Germany where they need to beat 1899 Hoffenheim over two legs to reach the group stage.
The German side surprised many by finishing fourth last season but have sold a couple of their star players – Niklas Süle and Sebastian Rudy both heading to Bayern Munich.
Hoffenheim haven’t started their Bundesliga campaign yet adding an extra advantage to the Premier League side who are favourites to progress.
The two teams are confirmed as:
Oliver Baumann; Benjamin Hübner, Ermin Bičakčić, Pavel Kadeřábek; Lukas Rupp, Kevin Vogt, Kerem Demirbay, Serge Steven Zuber, Gnabry; Sandro Wagner, Andrej Kramarić
Substitutes: Gregor Kobel, Håvard Nordtveit, Jeremy Toljan, Dennis Geiger, Nadiem Amiri, Mark Uth, Ádám Szalai
Former-Leicester City striker Andrej Kramarić partners Sandro Wagner up front, whilst former-Arsenal youngster Serge Gnabry will start on the left wing after joining 1899 Hoffenheim on loan from Bayern Munich.
Simon Mignolet; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dejan Lovren, Joël Matip, Alberto Moreno; Jordan Henderson, Emre Can, Georginio Wijnaldum; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mané
Substitutes: Loris Karius, Ragnar Klavan, Joe Gomez, James Milner, Marko Grujić, Dominic Solanke, Divock Origi
Alberto Moreno retains his place at left-back from the weekend as James Milner remains on the bench. Jürgen Klopp sticks with the side that drew 3-3 at Watford on Saturday.
