What Would Be The Price of England Winning the 2018 World Cup?
England take on Croatia this evening in their first World Cup semi-final since 1990, with the greatest opportunity to reach the final for the first time since 1966.
The Three Lions have beaten Colombia and Sweden to reach the final four after finishing runners-up in their group to Belgium.
Opponents Croatia have relied on a penalty shootout in each of their two knockout ties so far – defeating Denmark and hosts Russia after starting the tournament very well. The fellow European nation were 2-0 winners over Nigeria and 3-0 over Argentina to start their group.
The 2018 World Cup has got billions of fans watching worldwide, some who aren’t even football fans during the domestic season. Pubs and bars up and down the country are enjoying the success of the England national team this summer as more and more show up as the more important the games get.
However, it’s not all glitz and glamour – someone has to foot the bill. Corporate Travel and Expense Management Solution, Rydoo, have estimated that it would cost a staggering £144,995 just to fly the team to Moscow and put them up for Sunday’s final, should England be victorious this evening.
The winner of England-Croatia is set to meet France in Sunday’s final after Didier Deschamps’ side were 1-0 winners of Belgium in last night’s first semi-final. Like England, France are one-time winners of football’s most prestigious trophy, successfully lifting the World Cup on home soil back in 1998.
Rydoo have produced the following infographic on each team’s expenses at the 2018 World Cup:
