Off the pitch… Pires refuses to live in Birmingham
Aston Villa’s new signing Robert Pires is reportedly chauffeured 250 miles to training every day. The 37-year-old opted out of a move to Philadelphia in May, claiming that it was not a ‘beautiful city,’ before ironically transferring to Villa. The Arsenal legend, currently residing in London, says: “Every morning I leave at 8am and by 9.30, or 9.45, I’m at the training ground and have time to get ready, to train and I have the best conditions possible.”
Bobby is set to play against his former employers this Saturday, as Aston Villa take on Arsenal. Perhaps he could get a free ride on the Gunner’s team coach?
