Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will target Rangers defender Majdid Bougherra as he looks to bolster his defensive options.

According to reports in the Daily Mail, Bougherra could be available at a cut-down price with only 18 months left on his current deal.

Arsenal boss Wenger though has admitted a loan may be more approriate: “[A loan] would be the best solution for us because what do you do with five centre-backs?”

Arsenal take on Ipswich Town in the 2nd leg of the Carling Cup semi-final with the Gunners 1-0 down in the tie.
