Despite Kaka’s fading form towards the end of his career in Milan, in June 2009 Real Madrid broke the then world transfer record by bizarrely forking out £56 million for the Brazilian playmaker. He’s barely kicked a ball since. Primarily because of a career-threatening knee injury, however, you have to simply sit back and question the logic of a debt-ridden club splashing the cash on this aging God-head.
The future: Will we ever see him effortlessly glide past defences again? Well, Mourinho says it will be a miracle if he returns before the end of the season. I guess he’d better get pointing to the sky then.
