Embarrassing moments in football
On 17 May 2004, Martin Keown laced up his boots and stepped out on to the Highbury turf in a testimonial to commemorate his 11-year stint at Arsenal. Keown featured in an Arsenal XI which contained fan favourites Marc Overmars and Ian Wright, among others. Meanwhile, the opposition was an all-star England XI fronted by a baby-faced David Beckham.

During testimonials, it is custom for the figurehead of the event to mark the occasional with a goal and celebrate in front of the fans. However, Keown had to wait to find the net after failing to convert from the penalty spot just before half time! Check out the vid!
What a pity Rob Green couldn’t transfer his goalkeeping ability in testimonials into the national team, eh?
