Liverpool legend steps down from playing
Liverpool legend Dietmar Hamann has stepped down from playing football after he switched from MK Dons to Leicester.
The former German international was a player/coach at League One side MK Dons but has now become first-team coach at the Walkers Stadium under Sven Goran Eriksson.
A spokesman for MK Dons said: “The club can confirm that Dietmar Hamann has left his post as first-team coach to take up a position with Leicester.
“Everyone at MK Dons would like to place on record our thanks to Didi for his hard work. We wish him well in his emerging coaching career.”
Hamann won a Champions League title with Liverpool in 2005 and scored the last goal at the old Wembley Stadium against England.
