Oscar-nominated director Alejandro Gonzalez has revealed Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney could be a Hollywood actor once his playing career is over.
The Mexican directed Nike’s Write The Future ad for last year’s World Cup, which – following the tournament – was claimed to be ‘cursed’ as all the superstars who appeared in the campaign struggled on the pitch in South Africa.
The director said: “Wayne Rooney was super-comfortable with the camera… I said to him, ‘I will offer you a role once you are a little older and you are done with football’. He will have a good Hollywood career, I’m sure.”
