The BIG debate: Have Arsenal thrown away the Premier League title?
They may still have 13 Premier League games to play but have Arsenal shown the type of vulnerability that will ultimately kill off their title hopes?
Arsenal took a commanding 4-0 lead at St James Park against Newcastle United this afternoon but were incredibly pegged back by Alan Pardew’s side in the second half following Abou Diaby’s sending off.
The Gunners dismantled Newcastle in the opening 26 minutes with goals from Theo Walcott, Johan Djourou and Robin van Persie (two). However, after being booed off at the break, the Geordies came out fighting and two penalties from Joey Barton along with goals from Leon Best and Cheik Tiote meant Arsenal drop two vital points.
It’s not critical, but is this the type of game that Arsenal needed to win in order to re-claim the Premier League? Is there any way back for Arsene Wenger’s side?
