Where’s wallets?

This weekly column puts the shifty past and present owners of our beloved football clubs under the microscope. Next up… None other than Thaksin Shinawatra, ex-Manchester City chairman

Shinawatra used the takeover of Manchester City in 2007 as a cover for political crimes back in his home country of Thailand. It went to show that fans don’t mutter a word if whoever’s in charge is sinking money into their football club.

Kim Jong Il could have snapped up Liverpool F.C off Gillett and Hicks and nobody would have batted an eye lid.
As for where he is now, nobody really knows. He was last rumoured to be hiding out in Dubai as the High Court took away £1 billion pounds worth of his assets. We don’t think he’ll be in the market for a football club anytime soon.
