Liverpool record-breaker Andy Carroll could make a dramatic return to action this weekend, with a debut against West Ham on Sunday.

Britain’s most expensive player is currently suffering from a thigh injury, but his rehabilitation has gone well, and the medical team at the Merseyside club believe the striker has an outside chance of making the bench for the forthcoming league fixture.

Anfield boss Kenny Dalglish belives Carroll’s infleucne could help inject some momentum into Liverpool’s push for the last Champions League place.
