Wolves boss rules out Liverpool move for £10m forward

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has ruled out selling star striker Kevin Doyle to Liverpool as it would “rip the heart” out of his side.

McCarthy has overseen Wolves’ impressive start to the new Premier League campaign with two wins out of two against Blackburn Rovers and Fulham.

Yesterday, Liverpool were linked with a £10m move for Irish international Doyle but McCarthy insists his best players will stay.

“We have started well, but can you imagine what that would do if someone took one of my best players away – not only to me, but to all the other players, to the club?

“It would just rip the heart out of it.”

Liverpool have today been linked to their former striker Craig Bellamy.
