Off the pitch… Valbuena crashes car on Christmas eve

Marseille midfielder Mathieu Valbuena has escaped a car accident unhurt, a police source told AFP.
The playmaker’s Lamborghini will have to be written off after a crash near Bordeaux. Meanwhile, Valbuena returned safely to his family home. It is unclear whether or not another car had been involved but the police had noted the road was particularly slippery after heavy rain.
The source also added that the car was extremely damaged and unlikely to be roadworthy.
We guess he’ll be nosing around in the sales come Monday then.
