Russians considering swoops for Chelsea and Liverpool stars
Anzhi, who recently lured Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto’o to Eastern Europe by making him the highest paid footballer ever, want to offer two-year contracts worth £13m a year to the Chelsea and Liverpool stars.
Lampard, 33, and Gerrard, 31, have always been criticised for their inability to form an effective partnership but that isn’t putting off Anzhi who want to add some more quality to their squad.
Chelsea midfielder Lampard has seen his status as a first-team regular dwindle in the last week after being left out of the team to face Bayer Leverkusen and being subbed at half-time Sunday’s game with Manchester United.
Liverpool skipper Gerrard is excpected to return to action after an injury lay-off on Wednesday night at Brighton.
