Bundesliga News… Adler the an-Sar for Sir Alex?
German and Bayer Leverkusen number one Rene Adler has been linked with a big money move to Manchester United.
This month is sure to be littered with rumours linking the world’s finest keepers with moves to Manchester United. This should come as no surprise though after United’s Edwin Van Der Sar announced his plans to retire at the end of the season.
Consequently, the Red Devils will be without a world-class shot stopper come the summer if they don’t find suitable replacement. One thing is for sure though, Fergie will not be wanting a repeat of the goalkeeping mire at United like the one that existed between the departure of Peter Schmeichel and arrival of Van Der Sar.
Today the papers would have you believe Bayer Leverkusen’s talented 25-year-old is desperate for a move to Old Trafford. The same paper also alleges that an escape clause in the German’s contract would allow United to make a £20m swoop.
One thing that may add some integrity to this rumour is the fact that Adler has previously gone on record to state his desire to one day play for his childhood love.
