Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge – with former manager Carlo Ancelotti keen to sign him at Paris Saint Germain.

Reports in TalkSPORT suggest that the Italian boss has dropped a huge hint as to a pursuit of the 31-year-old England player by describing him as “the best left-back in the world”.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will only sanction one-year deals for players over the age of 30 – meaning Cole may look elsewhere to earn a longer contract.

A plethora of clubs would be interested in the former Arsenal player should he leave Chelsea and Ancelotti expects the player will be linked to the French capital by the press.

“This is normal because a lot of players are linked with Paris St Germain. The newspapers said that 100 players could come here,” said the Italian.

“Ashley Cole is the best left-back in the world at the moment. For this season, we have a very good squad but next year, I don’t know what is going on.”
