Dani Alves to replace Sagna at Emirates?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to swoop for Barcelona full-back Dani Alves during the January transfer window, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The Brazil right-back has lost his place in the Catalan side’s starting team, falling down the pecking order behind Adriano Correia and Martin Montoya.

Gunners boss Wenger is ready to snap Dani Alves up next month as he searches for a replacement Bacary Sagna who looks set for a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

Frenchman Sagna has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain after turning down the offer of an extension to his current contract which runs out in 2014.

With Barca nine points clear at the top of the table, it is unlikely manager Tito Vilanova will change his side, alerting Wenger to Dani Alves’ availability.

I really hope so because unlike many other Gunners, I do not rate Sagna anywhere near as high as Lauren. I also believe that he has been responsible for most of the gaps left in the Manure & Norwich matches. Jenks is a much better deal for us and gives us the 100% that Brits bring to a team.

Interesting, you say that because I considered Lauren to be the weak link in the invincibles’ side. He wasn’t really worldclass, just incredibly grafting in his approach and willing to put his body on the line – similar to Keown, Parlour, Ljungberg and many others in that side. Arsenal need players like that and Wenger would do well to bring them in.

Unfortunately Jenkinson’s 100% is about 40% of sagna. So it is irrelavant that he gives 100%. He will neer be anywhere near what Sagna is. Wenger will not stop one of his french guys getting a large contract after a good run with us so Sagna will definitely go. Let us not confuse that with Jenkinson being a top leel plyer. Bring in Alves and hopefully in 2 years Jenkinson is a viable option.

that’s true about wenger allowing french players to leave for bigger contracts as long as Arsenal get the better deal in transfer money. i also agree about jenks, he’s still got a lot to learn, therefore having dani alves come in if available at a knock down price will be a good bargain for the club.

I don’t like τ̅ђɑ̤̥̈̊† kind of deal form arsene wenger, why could he use barcrey sagna T̲̣̣̥O̶̲̥̅̊ swoop dani alves, every body as well known τ̅ђɑ̤̥̈̊† alves is a stronge and aptitude player, but one criticism abt alves is the overlaping which kill team,if arsenal manager is able T̲̣̣̥O̶̲̥̅̊ bring him without swoop,he could av been better ,however know alves journey T̲̣̣̥O̶̲̥̅̊ arsenal squad will more strong d team, for M̶̲̥̅ƹ ,I don’t want sagna departure now.
