Steven Gerrard confirms MLS move
In an exclusive interview with Liverpool FC TV moments ago, club captain Steven Gerrard has confirmed he will be leaving for Major League Soccer when his contract expires at the end of the season.
It had already been announced that Gerrard would be leaving but it had not been made clear where his destination was, until now.
On New Year’s Day, Gianluca Di Marzio speculated that the Liverpool legend would be on his way to Los Angeles Galaxy, who are the bookmakers’ favourite choice to land Gerrard.
In his interview moments ago, the 34-year old confirmed he will be playing football in the USA next season:
Gerrard: “I’ll be going to play in USA. I’m not over the line with any team yet. I’m close & as soon as I know, I’ll make the announcement.”

With Gerrard stating he is close to agreeing a deal with a club, one must suspect that reliable journalist Di Marzio is correct with his assumption that the former England captain is heading to David Beckham’s former club, LA Galaxy.
This would present an opportunity to hook up with former Liverpool striker Robbie Keane who is currently on their books.
