Manchester City are planning to bid for arsenal transfer target Nabil Fekir, according to reports.

The 21-year old has impressed for French Ligue 1 side Lyon this season.

Premier League champions Manchester City have sent scouts to watch the youngster in action this season and have been impressed with what they have seen.

Arsenal have also been interested in the young midfielder but have yet to make a bid.  However, Fekir’s father last year claimed that his son would choose the North London club over Manchester due to the potential of playing first-team football over sitting on the billionaires bench.

Nabil Fekir has caught the attention of clubs around Europe due his performances with Lyon this season where he has scored seven goals in 15 league games and added a further four assists.  Last year he made his debut for the French under-21 side.

Fekir is a good dribbler of the ball and at delivering from set pieces.  He would face stiff competition in the Arsenal side, not only to get into the team regularly but certainly taking set pieces with both Alexis Sánchez and Santi Cazorla around.  As well as enjoying running at defences, he creates several chances for his teammates.

The weakpoints of Fekir’s game are his tackling, or lack of tackling ability, and heading, standing at 5’8″.  He has split his time playing as a striker and the number 10 role in Hubert Fournier’s side.

Manchester City’s spending power may be able to prise Fekir away from Lyon as early as this month.
