Done deal: Steven Gerrard moves to MLS
It has been confirmed that Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will play in Major League Soccer for the Los Angeles Galaxy next season.
The initial reports over the New Year’s holiday had suggested that the Reds’ legend Gerrard would be departing Anfield for California int he summer and this evening that has been confirmed.
LA Galaxy confirmed it on their Twitter account earlier that they had signed the former England captain:

The 34-year old had announced earlier this week that he was set to leave his boyhood card and that a deal with a USA side was on the cards.
Gerrard admitted earlier today that if Liverpool had offered him an extension on his current contract earlier in the season he would have accepted it.
In recent weeks manager Brendan Rodgers has left the midfielder on the substitutes bench which had led to rumours of friction between the two.
Others suggest that the release of Gerrard and the sale of Jose Reina point to the owners getting their big money earners off the books.
Liverpool fans – what do you make of this deal? Do you think your club should you have done their best to extend Steven Gerrard’s contract?
