Gunners Prepare Summer Bid for French Striker
Arsenal are believed to be preparing a bid in the summer for Olympique Lyonnais striker Nabil Fekir, according to reports in France.
The 21-year old has made a name for himself this season, his first six months in professional football after coming through the youth system in Lyon that he joined in 2011.
Nabil Fekir has established himself this season with some impressive performances.
The France under-21 international has scored eight goals and set up five for his teammates in 20 Ligue 1 appearances, playing alongside top scorer Alexandre Lacazette.
Le 10 Sport are now reporting that the Gunners are preparing a bid for Fekir.
No price has been quoted and it is not known whether Lyon would cash in on their young hot shot.
However, Fekir’s father was recently quoted by Le Parisien when linked to both the Gunners and Manchester City back in December, as saying:
“If he leaves, it will be for Arsenal. It is the only club that can make progress, with Arsène Wenger. He will not go to Manchester City to stay on the bench.”
Wenger currently has Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sánchez, Theo Walcott and Chuba Akpon as strikers, with Lukas Podolski, Joel Campbell and Yaya Sanogo all to return from loan deals in the summer.
